Maybe It's a Regional Thing?

Why are the only Beastie Boys songs I ever hear on the radio here in eastern Massachusetts "Sabotage", "She's Crafty", "Fight for Your Right to Party", "No Sleep Till Brooklyn" or "Intergalactic"? 20 god damned years putting out records, something like 15 radio singles, and these are the ones I hear over and over again on local commercial radio?

Radio in the Metro West/Boston area is a fucking ghetto. It seems to be perpetually stuck in the early-to-mid 1990s, with The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Soundgarden, The Beastie Boys, Stone Sour, Green Day, Staind, Aerosmith, Alice in Chains, Weezer and Metallica just littering the musical landscape like so much flaming wreckage. It's like this never ending cycle of those bands, swirled in the festering toilet that is this radio market, with just a smidge of old No Doubt or Bush sprinkled on top to break up the cycle.
