Apache Admin Notes: Raw …

In late December I started looking at alternative web servers, having hit a point where I actually asked aloud (though to no one in particular) why I still use Apache for any http or php needs that may arise. I sat down, installed nginx (nginx 0.6.33) from the EPEL (Extra Packages for Enterprise Linux) repositories and lighttpd (lighttpd 1.4.20) from

Talk Sex…

with Sue Johanson is probably one of my favorite shows that I forget to watch. I love that she's sweet like your grandmother yet still seems like she gets down at home, age and all. I feel like this woman has left a string of broken men, now useless to the world, in her wake. If Oxygen had their shit

I have awesome search hits

In an effort to game the page rank, and reinforce some of the horrendously terrible things I have to say about people, here's the top searches that lead back to here, followed by the shit that these sites are probably referring to: kris roe phởtography book, skinny but still fat, and kris roe hair These all refer

Software Regret

Alex Payne of Twitter (the social network everyone but me uses) has posted a well structured list of software he's paid for but no longer users. I am in a similar boat thanks to sites like MacZot, where I have licenses for shit I will never, ever use again or for applications whose functionality was replaced by something better later on.

What the hell is www.51ffer …

If anyone reads french, I'd love to know what the site this guy is talking about is. All I get from it is "Free directory" and it looks like it's just a big old shit-heap of links. And what gives anyone the impression that pagerank means anything to me? I'm not really into SEO as a lifestyle and I really

Minute Photographic

Earlier this week Gordon Ryan (who needs to do something about his naked-ass site) and I discussed daily photo blogs. A short search for a backend, and a few days later evilskull.com has been pressed back into service. While I've got some template and .htaccess tweaking to do, the provided "Horizon" template suits my needs and tastes well enough.

A word about ska bands

In the last month I've been to two ska-punk shows with all-or-almost-all-cracker ska bands opening up, and one thing is abundantly clear to me: There is a reason people say that white folks have no soul. I've realized that generally these cracker bands play ska too fast, too clean, and too mechanically. They're almost always lacking any sort
